02How the Library is organized

The Library is an index, not a store. Each entry records a verification rating, the build it was last checked against, and any title-specific notes. Start with Stable titles, then expand into Beta once your baseline is solid.

Ratings are defined in Status definitions. A title moves from Test to Beta to Stable only when repeated runs confirm it — see Compatibility methodology for the exact procedure.

  • Stable: complete a full session without blocking defects at default settings.
  • Beta: playable with documented workarounds or minor defects.
  • Test: boots far enough to evaluate; not yet playable end to end.

03Before you index a title

Own your library. Meridian accepts only dumps of PlayStation 5 discs you already own — it ships with no games and no firmware. Keep your folder layout stable; the indexer records paths, not copies.

Install the official PS5UPDATE.PUP from Sony's system-software page first, using File then Install Firmware in the launcher. The walkthrough is Install firmware. Without firmware, indexing succeeds but nothing boots.

If the launcher reports a missing runtime on first start, install Microsoft's official Visual C++ 2015–2022 x64 runtime, covered in Missing runtime. Then Download Meridian and re-run the installer check.

05Questions

Q.01Does Meridian include games?

No. Meridian ships with no games and no firmware. Index dumps of discs you already own; 400+ titles are recognized by the launcher.

Q.02Why is a title listed twice with different ratings?

Ratings are per build. The catalog keeps the latest verification and the prior one during transition weeks so regressions are visible.

Q.03Where do I start?

Install firmware via File then Install Firmware, index one Stable title per Index your library, and confirm it boots per Boot system software.
