02Specification

Minimum clears Stable titles at native resolution with warmed caches. Recommended adds Beta headroom, higher resolutions, and multitasking margin. Both assume the official PS5UPDATE.PUP installed via File then Install Firmware and current GPU drivers per Vulkan check.

Ratings in the Library are quoted against this envelope. Faster hardware runs better; it does not change catalog ratings, which follow the reference rig.

03Rules

  • AVX2 is mandatory at every tier — see CPU and AVX2. No fallback exists.
  • Laptop dGPUs must be selected explicitly; integrated graphics fail the probe.
  • Storage must be SSD with 30+ GB free for firmware, caches, and one title at a time.

04Questions

Q.01Can minimum-spec machines run Beta titles?

Some, with patience. Beta assumes recommended headroom; minimum runs them slower, not incorrectly.

Q.02Why does RAM matter for an emulator?

Translation buffers, GPU staging, and per-title caches all consume RAM alongside Windows itself.

Q.03Is Windows 10 still supported?

Yes, 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. Keep either fully updated with current GPU drivers.
