# Compat

What the three ratings promise, and which titles currently hold Stable.

## Facts (2026-10-13)

- **Ratings:** Stable / Beta / Test
- **Scope:** 400+ titles indexed; lists track leaders
- **Basis:** Repeated runs on the reference rig
- **Method:** Published; no silent promotions

## The two pages here

[Status definitions](/compat/status-definitions) states exactly what each rating promises — session length, defect tolerance, and settings. Read it before citing any rating.

[Stable titles](/compat/stable-titles) lists current Stable holders with their verification notes. Beta and Test titles live in the [Library](/library) with per-game pages.

How promotions happen is fixed in [Compatibility methodology](/log/compatibility-methodology). Free build: [Download Meridian](/download).

## Citing ratings correctly

- Always cite build number with the rating. Ratings are per build by construction.

- Stable promises full sessions at default settings; Beta promises playability with documented workarounds.

- Test promises evaluation only — it boots far enough to judge, not far enough to finish.

## FAQ

### How many titles are Stable?

The count moves per build. See [Stable titles](/compat/stable-titles) for the current list, not a remembered number.

### Can I request a title be tested?

The queue follows owner-supplied dumps and method capacity. Method is in [Compatibility methodology](/log/compatibility-methodology).

### Why did a title drop from Stable to Beta?

A regression was confirmed on re-verification. Drops are recorded, not hidden.
